Win A Proton Contest Received Encouraging Response

Proton Edar Sdn Bhd, the marketing arm of PROTON Holdings Berhad announced the final two winners of the “Win a Proton Contest” which has been held throughout the Proton Edar network since February.

The winners, Mohd Zamadi bin Abdul Manaf from Kuantan, Pahang and Muhammad Ali Hanafiah bin Abu Hanifah from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan were selected based on the creativity of their slogans. They each won a unit of Proton Satria Neo 1.6 MT after submitting their entries upon their respective purchases of a new Proton car recently. To enter the competition, both Zamadi and Ali had bought a Proton Saga each.

Zamadi, 33, found it hard to contain his excitement over the win. “I am surprised and very thankful at the same time. My wife and I can now save on our travelling time and drive our own cars to work,” he said.

Proton Edar Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Encik Mohamad Shukor bin Ibrahim said, “It is our effort to support government’s call to buy Malaysian products. The response was very encouraging and our sales have increased by 10% with average volume of 3,200 units per month during the contest period.”

Proton Edar received 1,854 submissions since the contest started on 16 February 2009 and ended on 30 April 2009. The contest was opened to all PROTON customers who purchased a new Proton car during the contest period. To enter, customer was required to write a creative slogan and as proof of purchase, contestant was required to attach a copy of the car registration card. Proton Edar gave away a total of five units of the sporty Satria Neo 1.6 MT model during the three month-long contest.
