Don’t Bother Running From British Cops in Humberside

We recommend you avoid speeding and car chases as a general rule, but if you happen to live in or near the region of England formerly known as Humberside, we advise against it even more strongly. Why? Because the Humberside Police are now driving around in a new Lexus ISwhats WHY!

With the results of the annual British Crime Survey released earlier this month showing a seven percent drop in crime in the area, it’s not completely clear why the Humberside Police upgraded their fleet of Subarus to a fleet of 416-hp V-8 IS Fs that cost about 83,000 pounds (RM $481,609) once 30,000-pounds-sterling worth of police equipment was added. This is what a police spokesman has to say:

police-lexus-is-f-in-action“The purchase of the vehicle was far from an easy decision and involved research and advice from the force fleet manager, financial managers and a vehicle dynamics expert,” said Sergeant Mike Peck of the Humberside Police Roads Crime Section. “The Lexus was tested during a 12 month period along with similar vehicles and proved itself to be ideally suited in providing a dynamically safe high performance chassis along with an electronically stable platform for the computer equipment. In the past this equipment has placed huge demands on vehicles but the Lexus IS F easily met with our requirements. The final product provides a most formidable package and is undoubtedly one of the most advanced police vehicles in the world which in turn enables my officers to deal with the criminals who use the roads for serious and organized crime.”

With countries around the world using bigger and faster police cars, do you think Malaysia’s 320 hp Mitsubishi Evo 10s are enough to handle criminals?
