The 2009 edition of the Tokyo Motor Show came and went but the most ancitipated product from the Nissan stable never came. Nissan did not unveil its SpecM version of the GT-R. Nevertheless, a new report from Japan says that work continues on the softened, marginally up-market super coupe, although there’s no any statement made when we finally see it.

The M-Spec is rumoured to be more of a grand tourer, providing the best of both, performance and comfort worlds. InsideLine’s correspondent from Japan stated that the R35 version of the Nissan GT-R SpecM will dispatch the current Godzilla’s standard hard-riding suspension with a more road-friendly setup that won’t affect the twin-turbo’d AWD monster’s prodigious grip.
There will be a few interior modifications to give the GT-R a more luxurious facade, European competition including new colour combinations and optional aluminium or wood grain trim. The not so big surprise in all of this new tweaks is that the price of the SpecM will soar past that of the SpecV. The SpecM will go for 18,000,000yen(RM 680,381) meaning that it will indeed be priced like a European supercar. The car’s release may come as soon as early next year.
