
VW has officially revealed Volkswagen Up! Lite concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show. There are three sections that were included in the futuristic vehicle : TDI+ E Motor + DSG, a body concept and a new interior concept.

Further fuel-saving technologies include brake regenerative technology, a pulse start module and a 7-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG). That plus a vehicle mass of 695kg helps the car achieve an average fuel consumption figure of 2.44 litres per 100km or 70mpg on the highway. Also the aerodynamics of the Volkswagen Up! Lite reduce the drag coefficient to 0.237 Cd. The bonnet is made from carbon fiber and weighs only 3.3 kg.
The Volkswagen Up! Lite targets to be the most fuel efficient four seater passenger car in the world with a 800cc TDI engine. The pint-sized powerplant is based on VW’s 1.6-litre TDI and develops 38 kW at 4,000 rpm and 120 Nm of torque. The Volkswagen Up! Lite also has an Eco mode which at a press of a button reduces the power output to just 26 kW.
Volkswagen Up! Lite also offers enough interior room for four passengers with luggage. Exterior features include front fog lights, LED daytime running lights, 18-inch aluminium and carbon fibre wheels and LED rear lights. Interior equipment comprises of a 5.7-inch touch screen, an MP3 player, an Internet connection and a telephone.
