The Perodua Myvi is ranked highest in the Compact Car segment in the 2009 Malaysia Initial Quality Study conducted by J.D Power Asia Pacific. This is the third year in a row that Perodua Myvi is ranked highest.
“For customers, good fuel efficiency is the main reason to purchase a Myvi in addition some (respondents) quoted the attractiveness of the design and the roominess of the cabin,” J.D. Power Asia Pacific’s General Manager Taku Kimoto said during the prize presentation held recently.
The Myvi is the best selling car since July 2005, the model sold over 378,000 units since it was launched in May 2005 and in 2009, the Myvi sold some 91,000 units, making it the best selling car of last year.
The prize was given to Perodua Auto Corporation Sdn Bhd managing director Mr. Osamu Oaki by Mr. Taku Kimoto at Perodua headquarters in Rawang. Also present was Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) managing director En. Aminar Rashid Salleh.
“This is a very proud day for us as the Perodua brand has earned the trust of the Malaysian public yet again. On behalf of Perodua I would like to thank all Malaysians for choosing Myvi as their car of choice,” Aminar said.
The 2009 Malaysia IQS J.D Power Asia Pacific study was conducted between March 2009 and July 2009 by J.D Power Asia Pacific – a global marketing information firm – which saw 2,874 respondents in face to face interviews via street sample of suitable candidates.
In the study, respondents were surveyed regarding problems they experienced at 2 to 6 months of ownership. Analysis focuses on problem areas affecting quality across vehicle systems. Overall perfomance is reported in terms of “Problems Per 100 vehicles” (PP100).
