New Honda Civic Delayed Till 2011

Five-year product cycles is the usual standard for automakers, which means that the 2005 Civic should be due for an impending replacement already.

Apparently not, because according to John Mendal (Executive Vice President of Honda America), due to changes in market conditions, higher standards of fuel economy and stricter emissions standards, it has hampered the development for the next generation Civic’s debut possibly till late 2011.

Although the new civic was originally going to be larger than its predecessor, it may be more similar in size instead.
