Last year’s F1 World Champion headed up to the headlines as it appears that Jenson Button wants more than glory. He’s filed a lawsuit against Brawn GP to earn himself the championship-winning F1 car.
While negotiating with Brawn GP for last season, it was reported that Button had agreed to a salary cut due to Brawn’s tight budget back then. According to Button, Brawn had apparently agreed to allow Button to keep one of the cars, should he win the title, which was also mentioned within his contract.
After gaining glory last year, Button left Brawn and joined McLaren, while Mercedes bought over Brawn. Unfortunately, Mercedes did not deliver the promised chassis due to a lack of available chassis’ on-hand and instead offered to build him a replica. As a result, Button’s company took the team to court.
However, both parties have decided to settle out of court, allowing Button to walk away with what was initially promised.
