Mercedes Benz’s small hatchback, dubbed the CLC based on the previous generation (w203) C-Class platform, isn’t looking too well. First introduced in 2008, it was moderately popular in markets around the world. Hence, the production of the CLC may come to a halt by the end of 2010.
Currently being produced at Mercedes’ Juiz de Fora facility in Brazil, it will soon undergo changes in its production line to build the Actros, which is Mercedes’ heavy-duty commercial truck. No plans have been made to shift CLC production elsewhere.
However, there is a possibility that an all-new version of the CLC could be on the drawing boards after the next-generation C-Class comes about within the next few years.
