In addition to the V10 model, Audi has now officially turned the Audi 4.2L V8 R8 Spyder from rumours to REALITY!
In terms of bodywork, we have yet to receive news on any changes to the previous R8 Spyder, but for now, let’s just take it as it was except for its rims and badge.
The 4.2 Spyder will be equipped with Quattro all-wheel drive as standard and the roof mechanism will also remain the same; fully-powered fabric unit found in the V10 model. Moreover, it is also available with a six-speed manual in addition to the R-Tronic semi-automatic gearbox.
The stock 4.2 Spyder will receive the conventional dampers and 18” rims but, the magnetic ride dampers and 19” rims equipped on the V10 can still be an option for a price ofcourse. The 8-piston (front) and 4-piston (rear) callipers remain similar to the V10, although the carbon ceramic rotors and pads can still be an extra in Europe.
News has it that this latest R8 Spyder will be up for grabs as soon as the third quarter of this year and let’s just hope we can see them on Malaysian streets soon after that!
