Although there was word floating around that the greatly anticipated FT-86 was delayed till 2013 due to issues regarding design and powerplant, Toyota’s engineers have mentioned that the car maintains it release date for November 2011.
There will be three spec options with perhaps two engine variants. Toyota is looking to sell the FT-86 in Japan for around 2.5 million yen. There’s further speculation that a turbocharged variant will be the top dog in the variant line-up and no hybrid technology will be going into the FT-86. Instead, it will be held back for another sport model that’ll be revealed to us soon.
