Production of Chevrolet’s Volt Begins 11th November, 2010

GM has officially confirmed the morning of 11th November 2010, will be the official day  in the US that the Volt officiates its production linie.

Initially, the month of November was always the main target, but a specific date was unable to be confirmed without meeting certain development targets previously set, according to GM spokesman Rob Peterson.

Now that development and testing is virtually complete and certification testing is underway, production and consequently, customer deliveries will soon begin unless there’s any bumps along the way due to any unforeseen circumstances.

As of current till November 2010, the preproduction vehicles will be utilized by GM’s employees in order to provide some real-world evaluation.

Since there’s a current price war going on at the moment to see who will be the cheaper electric vehicle in the US, Chey’s Volt or Nissan’s Leaf, it will be interesting to see which marque makes it here to take the crown of being the first electric car to reach Malaysia?
