The Ferrari Owners’ Club Malaysia and local Ferrari importer NAZA Italia put their names on the Malaysian Book of Records when it successfully organized a record breaking event of having the most number of Ferrari cars, 144 to be exact, parked in one location in Asia. The previous record was in Sydney with 139 Ferrari’s during 2007.

The event later achieved another record when it created the longest line of 131 Ferrari cars on convoy along the MAJU expressway to Cyberjaya.

Club president Dato Azizi Yom was presented with the certificates by Malaysia Book of Records managing director Datuk Danny Ooi.

Besides creating history, the event was also aimed at bringing together Ferrari owners in Malaysia, for a day of fun and games, with shows and special appearances by celebrities at The Pavilion shopping centre concourse.

Among the beauties that were displayed were the 599 GTB Fiorano, 430 Scuderia, California, F60 Enzo and 360 Modena, including the latest Ferrari, the 458 Italia.

Other than the standard Ferrari’s found at Pavilion that morning, a F430 Novitec Rosso Scuderia 747 added to the uniqueness of the event.

Besides the main highlights, the concourse was also abuzz with exhaust notes when all 140 cars fired up their machines, creating a thunderous yet harmonious combination of sounds of the V12s, V10s and V8s.

The event is part of the collaboration between the Ferrari Owners Club Malaysia (FOCM) and NAZA Italia, among the numerous activities such as the Charity Gala Dinner, Ferrari Charity Super Drive to Bukit Tinggi as well as joint events with Ferrari Owners’ Clubs of Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong.

NAZA Group of Companies Joint Group Executive Chairman Dato’ SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, said such an achievement was a result of a successful partnership between NAZA Italia and the Ferrari owners.

“We have continuously supported the owners in their activities and will continue to play a major role in future events and activities,” Dato’ SM Faisal, who is also the club’s committee member, added.

He said additionally, the owners felt a sense of belonging as NAZA Italia had successfully taken care of their precious machines through its state-of-the-art service facility in Petaling Jaya.

“We are more than capable of handling the ever discerning demands of our Ferrari customers,” he added.

Truly a remarkable feat, the event was nothing short of a success, though my ear drums may have required some tending to as they prepared to construct the convoy.
