BMW Group Malaysia recently announced the appointment of Maznah Zolkifli as the premium automaker’s first ever brand icon for its premium motorcycle division, BMW Motorrad.
Welcoming Maznah at a special signing ceremony at the newly established Chear Motorrad dealership, Mr Fazli Shukor, BMW Motorrad Manager, BMW Group Malaysia said, “Maznah’s presence as our Motorrad Brand Icon will definitely introduce the BMW Motorrad brand to a wider audience and this is only the stepping stone for better things to come in 2012. She is no stranger to the big bike scene here and her dynamic personality and passion for premium motorcycles mirrors the traits with which we at BMW view our motorcycles.”
Echoing Shukor’s sentiments, Maznah said, “I am really honoured to be appointed the first BMW Motorrad Brand Icon here in Malaysia. This appointment only serves to further fuel my passion for BMW motorcycles which in my opinion are the best motorcycles in the world! I believe every motorcycle enthusiast should experience a BMW motorcycle at least once in their lives.”
Having had a passion for motorcycles since 1991, Maznah has also been a strong advocate for women in the Malaysian big bike scene. She has created an important impression on the local motorcycle scene, even picking up several reputable awards and recognitions all over the country for her advocacy work.
Since 2003, BMW’s motorcycle business in Malaysia has recorded positive growth year on year. In 2011, BMW Motorrad registered a record performance, delivering 300 motorcycles, a further 6% increase from the previous record of 281 motorcycles achieved in 2010.
2011 was also an excellent year for BMW Motorrad as the motorcycle brand introduced their first six cylinder 1,600cc Luxury Touring bikes – the BMW 1600 GT and BMW 1600 GTL on the back of introducing the brand’s first superbike the BMW S 1000 RR which has gone to become the leader in its segment.
The premium motorcycle maker has also since introduced its first independent BMW Motorrad dealership – Chear Motorrad as well as made its first foray into the local motorsports scene with a partnership with Two Wheel Garage in the Malaysian Superseries.

The ceremony received overwhelming support from over 200 guests throughout the day which included Chear Motor Club members, BMW Motorrad Club Malaysia members, members of the Women on Wheels program as well as BMW Motorrad fans.
