Proton has launched the “Nama Siapa Hebat” contest to invite all Malaysians to name its all-new compact car, which is expected to to be introduced in the first half of 2014.  This contest is open to all Malaysians from the age of 12 and above with a Malaysian identity card.

The rules are, all names submitted must be in Bahasa Malaysia, containing no more than six letters. It may be in alphabets or a combination of alpha numeric but cannot be all numeric. And most importantly, the names submitted cannot have any association with the animal kingdom. Of course, all entries must be supported with a rationale for the names chosen.

Participants can submit as many entries as possible, either via mail, or online at the namasiapahebat.proton.com website. Forms for the contest are available at Proton Service Centres nationwide.

Executive Chairman of Proton, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Khamil Jamil said, “We are the national automotive car company, so it is only right this is shared together with the rest of the country and all Malaysians. It is only right that the Malaysian public share our pride and play a significant part in naming the new Proton car.”

“This new compact car is extremely stylish, and is targeted to those from all walks of life who love an active lifestyle, from the young to the old, to even those wishing to upgrade up from a smaller vehicle,” he added.

Proton EMAS Concept

No confirmation on this yet, but the new car could be the finalised version of the Proton EMAS concept shown at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
