It’s a piece-by-piece unveiling of Lamborghini’s new car model, and though it is a rather slow affair, chances are it’ll be worth the wait.

This new teaser shot follows the one that can be seen below, so Lamborghini is simply providing us all a small glimpse of what is to come.

What looks to be somewhere around the tail section of the car, this new unveiling at Paris will become the new successor to the Murcielago since it was unveiled in 2001.

This picture above is basically the first of what is to come, so two down, and the other four will follow in time. Patience.

Pirelli has been a long time runner in the WRC scene, but latest has it that the Italian rubber company has been voluntarily ceding ground to its rivals.

After having secured the exclusive contract to provide tires to Formula One, Pirelli has announced that it is withdrawing from the World Rally Championship (WRC).

Pirelli had been the official tire supplier to the top-tier rally series for the past three years, and despite the F1 contract, was expected to continue its involvement in the WRC as well. However, reports now indicate that the deadline for submitting its tender to renew the WRC contract that expires this year has come and gone without Pirelli’s bid.

According to reports, Pirelli was uncomfortable with the volatility of the WRC’s regulations. The FIA – which governs both F1 and the WRC – offered Pirelli the opportunity to extend the current contract by another year, but Pirelli declined, choosing instead to focus its efforts on single-seaters while continuing its rally activities in national series and, possibly, in the rival Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

General Motors has officially announced that television and movie star, Tim Allen, will be the new “voice of Chevrolet,” starting with a series of ads that will begin airing from 7th September 2010 onwards.

These ads will be for the all-new 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, and while Allen is a big-name with a very recognizable voice, GM’s vice president of marketing, Joel Ewanick, reminds us that “the car will be the star.”

Allen is best known for his starring role on the long-running 1990′s sitcom Home Improvement, as well as his roles in The Santa Clause movies and as the voice behind Buzz Lightyear in all of Toy Story’s trilogy. In addition, Allen is also a well-known automobile enthusiast and has an extensive car collection. He is a native of Detroit, Michigan, and has a strong love for classic American muscle cars.

GM mentions that the Cruze’s marketing campaign slowly get into full-swing as the cars begin to arrive at US dealerships in greater volume.

General Motors will be expanding Chevrolet of Europe’s lineup by adding a five-door Cruze to the mix, and GM has decided to preview it early with a few pictures on the web, but more will come one the Paris Motorshow gets underway in a few weeks time.

GM is still calling the Cruze hatchback a “show car,” however, in reality it really is somewhere between the stages of concept and prototype. Don’t expect the body to change, but we can easily see the front LED light bar and larger wheels being scrapped for the sake of cost-cutting.

Chevrolet says it will begin selling the Cruze hatchback across Europe in mid-2011 and pricing will be announced closer to the model’s on-sale date.

Less than a week after 13-year-old Peter Lenz was killed in a crash at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, another motorcyclist’s life has been claimed at the track. Shoya Tomizawa.

Tomizawa was on his 15th lap at the Misano circuit during the San Marino Grand Prix when he apparently lost control of his Moto2 bike at full speed, was thrown off the bike and then hit by two other riders before sliding 130 feet to a halt.

Tomizawa was taken to a local hospital immediately after the crash and succumbed to his injuries soon thereafter.

The Moto2 rider had moved up the ranks since beginning in pocketbike racing when he was only three years old, eventually graduating to the 125 class. This year, he took a win at Qatar and sat seventh overall in the standings.

Our condolences goes out to Tomizawa’s family, friends and fans. He was 19.

Ayrton Senna da Silva was born on March 21, 1960. He began his karting career at age 13, graduated to single-seat race cars in 1981 and before before we knew it, he had reached the promised land of Formula One in 1984. He was just 24. Four years later, he captured the first of three world championship titles, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest drivers of all time.

Watching Senna drive during rainy conditions was like watching an artist create a masterpiece. As you may already know, tragedy struck when Ayrton Senna died in an accident during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at Imola.

Senna aficionados will soon get the opportunity to learn more about their idol, thanks to a forthcoming documentary. A Japanese-language trailer has been released for the upcoming biopic, Senna, the first officially-sanctioned feature-length film about the Brazilian driver who, to this day, remains sorely missed.

Mitsuoka’s orochi is now available as a rentable option. The company has just announced a rental program that will let you pick up either of its two sports cars for a fairly low per-day rental rate in Osaka.

For a mere US$390/day, you can play around with the ridiculously over-the-top Orochi, complete with a Toyota 3.3L V6, mounted mid-ship.

If you require something more along the lines of topless, Mitsuoka will be happy to put you in the driver’s seat of its roadster, the Himiko, for a mere US$177/day.

Whichever you choose, you’re still going to need quite a substantial amount of Japanese vocabulary in order to understand and navigate through Mitsuoka’s site.

The Countryman somehow begins to virally multiply into a fleet of over one hundred CG interpretations, all hopping curbs and harassing pedestrians in what we can only imagine is what the world would look like if a Mini exec ruled the globe.

While the appeal of the BBC show undoubtedly revolves around the chemistry between its three mismatched hosts, at its core, it’s a show about cars. So even if we’re not certain the three American hosts can live up to the legacy established by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, perhaps they really don’t need to.

Top Gear USA isn’t a replacement for the BBC show after all – it’s more of a spin-off. The storyline is fairly straightforward: Round up the baddest Lamborghinis from the corral, like the Superleggera, Balboni and Super Veloce – turn them loose and watch as the story unfolds.
