We’ve previously had our feel around with the Satria Neo R3 bad-boy from Proton, but thankfully we had the opportunity to spend a little more time living with this particular hot-hatch. From deep within the realm of Proton’s R3 department, comes a more affordable variant than the Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing Edition.

Courtesy of Proton’s Race Rally Research (R3) Division, we were able get to know this welter-middleweight class fighter that’s able to hold its own, both in the ring track and on the streets. And, from the way it looks, it’s always ready to be engaged at any given moment.

We were able to get our hands on the new Mazda2 R-Grade Sedan, which is also available as a hatchback in either V-Grade or R-Grade as well, and ‘boy!’ were we impressed with what it had to offer.
