The Germans have dished out enough SUVs with the likes of Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche in contention to offer the most in the luxury-sport combination of SUVs.

But in 1999, the trend setter was originally BMW’s X5 and eleven years on, they’ve now been able to roll out it’s 1 millionth X5 off their production line. At current, the X5 offers a turbocharged petrol powerplant¬†¬†well as a diesel variant. Ofcourse, never forgetting the boys from BMW’s M division, who have contributed an M version to the mix, especially for those who crave horsepower.

The millionth X5 was rolled out of the Spartanburg, South Carolina factory and is now en-route to meet it’s new owner in China. It’s metal body has been coated in Metallic Sapphire Black and its interior features Cinnamon Brown Nevada leather.

Ever since the appearance of the X5, the X (Cross-Over) family has steadily grown to include the likes of the X6, X3 and just recently, the X1 model.
