You can make fun of the series all you want… But admit it, you’ve watched every instalment of the Fast and Furious, and you are not missing the latest instalment either. Nor the one after that that producer Neal Moritz promises is being developed. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. The fifth film, called Fast 5, is set to hit theatres in April 2011 and Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are back again reprising the lead roles of Dom and Brian.

Also back are Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Sung Kang – which would be interesting to see how that’s explained as we’re pretty sure he blew up in Tokyo Drift. That aside, Fast 5 takes place in Rio de Janeiro, where the crew is forced to perform “one last job” in order to earn their freedom. A new law enforcement agent stands in their way, a hard-nosed federal agent who never misses his target, who will be played Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Vin Diesel himself promises that more action that you ever thought you’d see in and Fast and Furious movie, and we’re certain that there won’t be any lacking in gratuitous vehicular action that probably break conceivable laws of physics.

The trailer for the film features only a few clear shots at some of the cars in the flick, but an E39 5 Series, a pair of matte black Charger police cars, a modified 350Z, a resto-mod Charger, a Ford GT, what appears to be a Mongoose Motorsports Corvette Grand Sport Roadster replica, and a Nissan GT-R are among a few in the line up. Watch it for yourself and maybe you’ll spot some few others.
