As the official title sponsor for the much anticipated BMW Malaysian Open 2011 taking place next week, BMW Group Malaysia today officially handed over a fleet of the new BMW X1 and the BMW 320i M Sports to the tournament organisers Carbon Media Management.
The fleet of the new BMW X1 and BMW 320i M Sports will be used as the official car for the shuttling of players as well as VIPs who will be here in Malaysia for the tournament, which starts from February 28th to March 6th 2011 at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country resort. Both car models are well suited for the event as they embody premium urban sportiness with best-in-class efficiency, adding prestige to this world class tournament.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Sashi Ambi, Corporate Communications Manager, BMW Group Malaysia said, “The BMW X1 and BMW 320i M Sport incorporate all the best traits of BMW and successfully blends them with real-world requirements and concerns. The BMW Malaysian Open 2011 is the second instalment of the Malaysian Open, which is a leg of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour – the world’s leading professional sport for women. The tournament this year promises to be thrilling with world-class players such as Francesca Schiavone, Marion Bartoli, Dinara Safina and last year’s defending champion, Russia’s Alisa Kleybanova already named to be featured in the competition for the prize purse of USD 220,000.00.
The tournament which is promoted and organized by Carbon Media Management Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia and sanctioned by the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM) will also feature Malaysian tennis stalwart and wildcard entry S. Theiviya.
