Perodua will donate a total of RM300,000 to Nurul Yaqeen Foundation in support of the foundation’s Caring Heart Project : School in Hospital. The amount is for a 2-year donation.

Perodua Managing Director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh presented the cheque to the Deputy Prime Minister’s wife Yang Amat Berbahagia Puan Sri Datin Noorainee Abdul Rahman, who is also the patron of Nurul Yaqeen Foundation, at a ceremony held at the Deputy Prime Minister’s Official Residence here today.

“We fully support the foundation’s noble School in Hospital project inspired by Yang Amat Berbahagia Puan Sri Datin Noorainee. We empathise with all children who require long term treatment at hospitals and as a result have to miss their school lessons and examinations,” Aminar said.

“This project will ensure that the children undergoing treatment at the hospital will not miss out on their school lessons and their preparations for the public examinations. This is in line with Perodua’s slogan “Because You Matter Most.”

The pilot project for the School in Hospital was launched last year at the Hospital Kuala Lumpur and it will later be extended to other major public hospitals.

Aminar said the company will also send Perodua volunteers to help with the Caring Heart Project : School in Hospital. The foundation with the cooperation of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education has agreed to train 100 facilitators to ensure the children obtain continuous guidance and optimise their time during the school holidays.

The number of Perodua volunteers to participate in this programme will be announced later.

“We will also send Perodua volunteers to other Corporate Responsibility projects of this nature and also to help in relief work during natural disasters.  Perodua volunteers had in the past distributed cash aid, food and daily essentials to flood victims in Kedah and Johor,” Aminar said.
