Toyota hopes to capitalize on the future of the hybrid car market in China with a locally developed concept called the Yundong Shuangqing. Along with Toyota Dear Qin sedan and hatchback concepts, the Shuangqing makes its world premiere at this week’s Beijing Motor Show.

“We would like to put smiles on the faces of our Chinese customers with hybrid technology. I want the people of China to be able to experience the beauty of hybrid technology through a hybrid car born in China,”  said Toyota’s  president, Akio Toyoda, during the concept’s reveal.

The Yundong Shuangqing will be made in China and for China only, with the hybrid system locally produced at Toyota’s R&D center in Changshu, China. The other two concepts, the Toyota Dear Qin sedan and hatchback, are compact concepts aimed at grabbing entry-level buyers around the world.
