The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport was the fastest open-top production road car in the world with it’s 368 km/h top end speed, that is, until they added the Vitesse name to it. Now, it’s top end speed is 410 km/h.

Actually, they didn’t just add an extra word. They added a whopping 199 hp increase over the Grand Sport by using four larger turbochargers with new intercoolers. Also, they have extensively reinforced all drivetrain components in order to safely transfer the immense forces. The gearing of the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) has been adapted to accommodate the increased power.

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse was announced earlier this year in February and was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show early March. Comparatively, it is faster than the 407 km/h top end of the “base” Veyron, yet slower than the 429 km/h of the Super Sport with the same “base” veyron engine with a fixed roof.

To honor the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse with it’s title as the fastest open-top production road car, Bugatti is showcasing a video for your viewing pleasure.
