Do you have to go back to your hometown up in Penang or down in Johor Bahru for Raya but only have money for just one tank of fuel on your moped? Boon Siew has launched a new moped that can travel to either Penang or Johor Bahru with just one tank of fuel. Yes, the all-new Honda Future will leave others in the past as it can travel 338 km with just one of its’ 5.6 litre fuel tank.

The ability to travel long distance was the main highlight of this new motorcycle that was launched by Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd last Wednesday, 18 July 2012, at the Palace of Golden Horses, Mines.

This ability is based on the ECE40 MODE research that states fuel consumption of the new Honda moped at 60.3 km per litre which is in compliance to EURO 2 Standard.

Another feature that was highlighted is its’ 19 litre U-Box that can fit a full-face helmet. You no longer have to lug your helmet around everywhere you go or hang it at the side of your motorcycle, exposed to rain and sun. With this bike, you can simply put you helmet in the box.

Apart from a new sleek and slim design, the ‘Future’ is powered by a new 4-stroke Single Overhead Cam (SOHC) 125 cc air-cooled engine producing about 10 hp at 7,500 rpm and 10.6 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm.

Three variants of the ‘Future’ was introduced. The full-option include sporty wheels with front and rear disc brakes while the basic variant uses spoke wheels with only front disc brakes.

Prices for the basic starts at RM5,578, variant 2 is priced at RM5,728 and the full option is RM5,998. This new moped comes in three colours – Coral Orange Metallic, Pearl Megallanic Black or Euphoria Red Metallic.
