Renderings of the Hennessey Venom GT2 have appeared on Facebook with four new renderings and just one important detail: the car’s  power-to-weight ratio will be even more insane than the current 1 hp per kilogram in the Venom GT.

Hennessey hasn’t shared exactly how the Venom GT2 will achieve that number, but our guess is it will be a combination of subtracting weight and adding power (DUUH). The new Venom GT2 will be powered by a Chevy-sourced 7.0-litre V-8 fitted with a pair of turbochargers and a string of other mods. Final output will be in excess of 1,500 horsepower, all of which will be channeled to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission or optional seven-speed, paddle-shifted automatic.

While new performance numbers haven’t been released, it would be a safe bet that the Venom GT2 will out perform the Venom GT’s 0-100km/h time of 2.5 seconds and claimed top speed of 422km/h.

Visually, the Venom GT2 appears to have a revised front end, with sharper and more angular headlights and hints of the Ferrari 458 Italia. According to the Facebook post, we should expect an official debut late 2014.

If you’re interested, the starting price on the 2014 Hennessey Venom GT2 will be USD $1.25 million.
