2014 Alfa Romeo 4C 01

First introduced as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011, the final version of the Alfa Romeo 4C is ready to be unveiled at the 83rd Geneva Motor Show from 7th to 17th March 2013. The moniker 4C stands for ‘four cylinders’, following the tradition of the Italian automaker’s 8C and 6C in the 1930s and 1940s.

The exterior design admonishes two of Alfa Romeo’s most iconic cars – the front and rear end look like its taken from the 8C Competizione while the whole blueprint and dimensions – almost 4000 mm long, 2000 mm wide and 1180 mm high, refreshes memory of the classic 1967 33 Stradale. In short, the 4C is a fine mixture of classic and modern styling. Inside, Alfa Romeo uses carbon fibre to enhance the sense of uniqueness and light weight.

The new 4 cylinder 1750 Turbo Petrol engine features an aluminium block as well as other avant-garde technological features such as a direct fuel injection, DVVT, a turbocharger that comes with a revolutionary scavenging control system to overcome the common turbo lag issue. The engine is coupled to the Alfa TCT automatic twin dry clutch transmission that can be changed sequentially via paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.

Alfa Romeo is also introducing the new Alfa DNA selector that lets the driver to choose between Dynamic, Natural, All Weather and Race modes to further enhance the experience of driving the 4C.
