Porsche Presents New Testimonial

Female tennis superstar, Maria Sharapova has penned a three-year deal with Porsche to be its brand ambassador thus involving her in a global communications campaign for the renowned German carmaker.Matthias Mueller, CEO of Porsche AG  explained, “Maria Sharapova is an exceptional athlete. She combines top performance in her sports with elegance and power. These are precisely the qualities that are embroiled in our sports cars.”

Meanwhile, Sharapova said, “This is a really special day for me. I have had the privilege to be associated with some of the best brands in the world, but now to be partners with Porsche, is such an amazing honor.”

The former world number one herself isn’t unfamiliar with cars. She previously signed a similar deal with Land Rover in 2006 and at last year’s Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, the Russian lass took home the grand prize – a white 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, which probably made her a perfect choice for Porsche.

Porsche on the other hand, sees the deal as an addendum to the company’s long-term commitment to women’s tennis. The company sponsors both German women’s national team and Porsche Talent Team Germany. “We are fully committed to these activities for a long term. And with Maria Sharapova, we are now extending our involvement in women’s tennis globally”, Mueller added.
