Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a leading manufacturer of heavy trucks, buses and coaches, marine, industrial and power generation engines, released its new K 410 IB 4×2 intercity coach and announces its delivery to Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN).

The new bus supposedly sets world class standards for fuel economy, comfort, safety, reliability and uptime with a new powerful yet environmentally friendly 410 hp Euro 3 compliant engine mated to an 8-speed Scania Opticruise gearbox with kick down and oil cooler. The new global engine, built with the latest in EGR emission technology offers higher torque at lower revs and consumes less fuel.

It now comes standard with an Electronically controlled Anti-lock Blocking System (EBS) and Traction Control (TC). Apart from that, it also features a full-air suspension, ensuring a safer and more comfortable driving experience.

“We are extremely honored that Scania’s legendary comfort, safety and reliability has won over BSN’s approval with a repeat purchase and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with one of Malaysia’s longest standing banks. Scania’s latest global engine platform has resulted in further improved combustion, upgraded engine management system, totally new engine architecture, improved exhaust brakes and integrated systems for emission control. The end result is less emissions and more power without compromising fuel efficiency. As such, we are confident that Scania buses and intercity coach will enable our customers in Malaysia achieve maximum profitability,” said Scania (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd General Manager Idros Puteh.

“BSN is committed in providing best-in-class transportation that ensures premium comfort and safety to our employees. This is why we chose Scania,” said BSN Corporate Support Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Latfan bin Mohd Amran during the official handing over ceremony held at Scania Malaysia’s headquarters yesterday.
