The 918 Spyder is truly a race car in disguise, utilizing a host of racing technologies including the state-of-the-art carbon monocoque that offers lightweight design as well as low centre of gravity. Axle load distribution is rated at 57 percent on the rear and 43 percent on the front, giving the car perfect driving dynamics. Also making appearance on the revolutionary sports car is the PASM adaptive shock-absorber system and rear-axle steering.

There are 887 horsepower to play with, courtesy of the 4.6-litre V8 engine (608 hp comes from the engine alone) and twin electric motors. To add icing on the cake, Porsche provides the 918 Spyder with five different driving modes – E-Power, Hybrid, Sport Hybrid, Race Hybrid and Hot Lap. Each mode can be activated via a ‘map switch’ on the steering wheel. When switched to E-Power mode, the car runs 100 percent on electric motors and can go for up to 29 km at speed up to 150 km/h.

It is said that Porsche is going to build only 918 units of this car, with all of them spoken for.
