Acura NSX Concept 06

Honda has confirmed that the much-anticipated Acura NSX will be built at their new plant in Ohio starting 2015. The USD70 million plant, which is known as the Performance Manufacturing Centre is Honda’s third plant in Ohio, after Honda R&D Americas and Honda of America Mfg.’s Marysville Auto Plant. 

The new plant measures about 184,000 sq ft and will house approximately 100 highly skilled manufacturing associates drawn from within the existing plants in Ohio. Meanwhile, the powertrain of the NSX will be assembled by the associates at Honda’s engine plant in Anna, Ohio.

The Japanese company also announced that Ted Klaus, Honda R&D Americas chief engineer will lead the global team developing the new NSX while matters in bringing the car to mass production by 2015 will be taken care of by Clement D’ Souza, associate chief engineer at Honda of America.
