Alfa Romeo is said to produce a crossover SUV vehicle within the next few years and rumours are, it will be based on the ‘Kamal’ Concept which was unveiled way back at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show.
Quoted from a recent interview with The Telegraph, Alfa Romeo UK Head of Brand Damien Daily said, “There will certainly be an SUV in the next two or three years.”
He also went to say that the Fiat Group’s ownership of the Jeep brand gives Alfa Romeo a “whole portfolio of technology” in which to further develop this new SUV and, is expected to share the platform used by the new Jeep Cherokee that was unveiled earlier this year at the 2013 New York Auto Show.
With the same platform also on the Alfa Romeo Guilietta model, it is rumoured that technology and engines, including front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions, will be offered on the new SUV. No other detail were given. Pictured here is the Alfa Romeo Kamal Concept.
