Unveiled to the world at the New York Auto Show last year, the all-new third generation 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe should be released into the Malaysian market very soon. These spy shots of the new SUV taken at the Inokom Assembly Plant in Kulim recently, confirms our suspicion.
It is seen here wearing Hyundai’s unique “Fluidic Design” which supposedly evokes an impression of an irrepressible motion through a concept it calls ‘Storm Edge’ that is said to show strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm. At the back, a dual exhaust system can be seen giving us more hints on the powerplant.
A CRDi badge, seen at the back of one of the vehicles that was photographed, reveals that a diesel variant using its more powerful R-series 2.2 litre CRDi diesel oil burner will be offered beside the Theta II 2.4 litre GDi Petrol engine that was rumoured to be equipped specifically for the Asian market. Also, a 4WD badge is seen on all of these new SUVs indicating that the FWD variant will not be offered here.
On the inside, a tan coloured leather seats is seen contrasting the dominantly black and silver interior of this 7-seater SUV. We did not receive any more information other than more rumours about it being priced around the RM160,000 range.
