After making its debut at last year’s Paris Motor Show, the race-ready Bentley Continental GT3 touches the sunlight once again at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Being a pure bred race car, the Continental GT3 loses over 1,000 kg of weight and receives a steroid shot to its 4.0-litre V8 heart to produce a staggering 600 hp. All horses are then transferred to the rear wheels via a carbon fibre propshaft to an Xtrac six-speed sequential gearbox with an LSD.

Handling-wise, Bentley uses a double wishone suspension configuration with four-way adjustable racing dampers at both ends, replacing the standard air springs. Steering system comprises a hydraulic power-assistance while braking power is provided by ventilated iron discs squeezed by six-piston calipers on the front and four-piston calipers on the rear.

The exterior, although follows the non-racing Continental GT mould, features a comprehensive aerodynamic package. There are carbon fibre rear wing, front splitter as well as revised bonnet, bumpers, fenders and sills. The interior, despite losing much of its luxuriousness, retains the hand-trimmed steering wheel, door pulls and seat.
