2014 Brabus S-Class 01

The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is as majestic as a car gets and has not even reached our shores yet, but Brabus, known for its habit to put rockets on all sorts of cars including Mercedes-Benz, has come up with their own iteration of the S-Class.

The tuning power house offers three different packages for the S500 and S63 AMG. The S500 gets the ‘basic’ B50 kit that will ‘moderately’ push the standard 4.7-litre eight-cylinder Biturbo engine to produce 520 hp and 820 Nm of torque. That is 65 more ponies over the standard output. The new found power then pushes the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds while top speed can be electronically limited at 250, 275 or 300 km/h.

Two packages are offered for the S-Class S63; Brabus B63 and B63S. The B63 package adds an extra 65 hp and 300 Nm, bringing the numbers to 650 hp/1,000 Nm. The B63S, on the other hand, provides the S-Class with a staggering 730 hp and 1,065 Nm of torque, enabling the car to reach 325 km/h of top speed.

Pushing out hundreds of extra horses is not an easy feat but Brabus manages to accomplish this by implementing a special mapping for the ECU as well as replacing the standard turbocharges with their own, larger turbines that generate higher boost pressure.

Apart from power upgrades, Brabus is also offering a special aero kit, monoblock wheels ranging from 19 to 21 inches, revised suspension as well as sport exhausts.
