MINI Vision Concept - 1

MINI has unveiled its Vision Concept car at a Mini Design@Home event in Munich last weekend. According to MINI Design Head Anders Warming, the concept showcases various elements of future MINI designs.

The signature hexagon front grille is seen incorporating a bumper section and fog lights on to it, flanked by a full-LED headlights with outer rings that function as daytime running lights (DRL).

Other signature features include chrome strip wrapped around the top of the body, the distinctive side indicator element and the “organo metal” black band framing the lower edge of the vehicle. At the rear, muscular shoulders gives it an extremely sporty and compact proportions.

Aerodynamics is said to serve a key role with its door mirrors, wheel rims and air intakes at the front of the wheel arch designed to channel airflow efficiently.

Inside, the MINI Vision offers individual style, variability, functionality and aesthetic appeal with a transparent and open cockpit design, sweeping doors and a “floating” centre console. It features lounge seats with dynamic piping that adds to the unique interior ambience.

There are also many smart features like the elastic fabric straps on the insides of the doors (arranged like Union Jack flag), are designed to hold a magazine, mobile phone or drinks bottle within easy reach. More interior storage boxes can be attached individually.

The production model is said to be unveiled later this year with sales expected in early 2014.
