2014 Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse 01

Lamborghini has added another model to join the long lineup of the Gallardo family; the LP570-4 Squadra Corse. Based on the one-make series Gallardo Super Trofeo, the Squadra Corse will have its world premiere at the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Like the Super Trofeo, the Squadra Corse has a 5.0-litre V10 from the Gallardo Superleggera in the rear mid section, spewing 570 hp at 8,000 rpm. With a six-speed e-gear transmission working hand in hand to send the power to all four wheels, the Squadra Corse warps from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches 200 km/h 7 seconds later. Stopping power is provided by the standard carbon ceramic brakes.

The Squadra Corse boasts a dry weight of only 1,340 kg, 70 kg lighter than the already lean Gallardo LP560-4. That is achieved through the consistent application of carbon fibre on the large rear wing and removable engine hood. The usage of the lightweight material continues inside on the door panels and handles, racing seats, centre console cover, handbrake frame, steering wheel and instrument panel.

Lamborghini says that this supercar is available in Giallo Midas (yellow), Bianco Monocerus (white), Grigio Thalasso (grey) and Rosso Mars (red). Keeping true to its Italian heritage, the Squadra Corse will bear a decal strip of green, white and red along the sides.
