Land Rover Range Rover Hybrid LWB 01

Land Rover is expanding its product offerings in China. Latest, the Coventry-based SUV maker has introduced the new Range Rover Hybrid LWB (Long Wheelbase) at the Beijing Auto Show. The diesel hybrid joins the standard Range Rover as well as the Range Rover Sport Hybrid in the Chinese market.

The Range Rover Hybrid uses the same 3.0-litre SDV6 engine with a 35kW electric motor. In total, the hybrid powertrain in the SUV outputs 335 hp and 700 Nm of torque. With an eight-speed ZF gearbox, the Range Rover Hybrid is capable of delivering 26 percent lower CO2 emissions  of 169 grams per kilometre and 6.4 litres per 100 kilometres of fuel consumption.

In EV mode, the SUV can run purely on electric power for up to 1.6 kilometre at speeds of up to 48 km/h.

Space is not compromised despite the additional powertrain, says Land Rover. The Range Rover Hybrid gets an extra 186 mm of leg room in the cabin and with an additional executive seating package, the rear seat angle of recline increases to 17 degrees.

Spec-wise, the Chinese-market Range Rover Hybrid LWB features the same technical aspect except for the exhaust system, which has been changed to meet the local emissions standards.
