Datsun mi-DO

Since its revival, Datsun has steadily rolled out its lineup of budget vehicles, starting from the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ MPV in Indonesia, to the On-Do sedan in Russia just recently. Now, the budget brand is set to make its Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS) debut with its fourth model, the new Datsun Mi-Do.

Taking the On-Do as its base, the five-door hatch incorporates the brand’s “D-cut” grille, flanked by projector headlamps. Despite sharing the same wheelbase and front-wheel drive layout as the On-Do, the Mi-Do is shorter compared to the sedan by 387 mm.

It will be powered by a 87 hp, 1.6-litre 8V engine with a five-speed manual transmission as standard. A four-speed will be offered optionally. Elsewhere, the press release mentions driver and passenger airbags across the range, ABS as well as winter pack comprising of heated seats and door mirrors to oust the intense Russian weather.
