Naza Premira Sdn Bhd today launched the new Vespa Primavera in an official ceremony held in Bangsar. Present were Brendan Ang, Area Sales Manager, Piaggio Asia Pacific, Abdul Hamid Ismail, Senior Vice President, Naza World Group of Companies and Farouk Faisal, General Manager of Naza Premira Sdn Bhd.
Originally launched into post-war Italy in 1968, the Primavera is said to be the scooter that brought a breath of fresh air into the world of mobility. It is powered by an air-cooled 154.8 cc single-cylinder engine producing 12 hp at 7,500 rpm and 12 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. With electronic fuel injection, a new bore and stroke and friction-reducing crankshaft, the Primavera boasts improved efficiency, fuel economy and performance.
On top of that, the engine is also mounted on a new 2-position arms and a double rubber bumper, returning smoother ride with minimal vibrations by approximately 40 percent. The engine is then mated to an automatic CVT.
Measuring 1,852 mm in length, 680 mm in width and a wheelbase of 1,334 mm, the Primavera retains its agility and stability. The space between the handlebar and adjustable saddle has been increased to improve riding position, while LED daytime running lights and improved suspension enhance safety and practicality in the scooter.
The Primavera – which borrows its styling cues from the Vespa 946 – is available in Azzurro Marechiaro (blue with black saddle), Montebianco (white with red saddle), Rosso Dragon (red with black saddle) and Nero Vulcano (black with red saddle). The price starts from RM11,888.
