While we were busy celebrating our independence day a week ago, Japan had ran Round 6 of it’s Super GT racing series at the Suzuka Circuit on the same weekend. There, Subaru displayed a concept vehicle at its booth to get some public reaction before production supposedly begins – The Subaru Forester STI tS Concept.
Reported by Response.jp recently, the Japanese automotive website spoke to Subaru Technica International (STI) Project General Manager Hiroshi Mori, who said that the Forester STI tS is just a concept and that it was shown to study the opinions and reactions of its customers. Unfortunately, no specific details on powertrain and performance were revealed.
However, exterior photos taken during the racing event does show that the Subaru Forester STI tS Concept, finished in its famed World Rally Blue colour, gets a full body kit including a front splitter, side skirts, rear under body diffuser and rear spoiler, all in black. There’s also larger exhausts pipes and a set of 19-inch BBS alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Turanza ER33.
Some interior shots (taken from outside) does reveal STI badging on the multi-function leather steering wheel, gear knob with red contrast stitching and on its seats with red accents. The dashboard does look to offer some carbon fiber trim. Let’s do hope that the public reaction was positive, so that Subaru can decide to produce this variant.
