First of all, this is not the Viva we Malaysians are accustomed to. What you see here is in fact a teaser for the upcoming Vauxhall Viva that will make its comeback only next year at the Geneva Motor Show. The small city car will join two fellow small cars namely Adam and Corsa in the brand’s lineup.
According to Vauxhall, the Viva nameplate will only be used in its home market. For the rest of Europe, the small car will arrive in an Opel version with a new name that is yet to be confirmed.
The Viva will come across as a budget five-door with either four or five seats. It shares the same underpinnings as the Chevy Spark and is rumored to be powered by the Adam’s 1.2- and 1.4-litre petrol engines, as well as a new turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder mill that makes either 89 or 113 hp, depending on variant.
