Aside from contributing emergency supplies, Aminar also spoke with the evacuees to understand their situation better.

According to news reports, on Monday, 20th October, 219 families involving 860 residents living in two (2) Teratai Apartment blocks were evacuated due to a landslide near their residences.

The occupants have been evacuate to two shelters, which are; Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Bunga Raya 1 and Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Bunga Raya 2.

“We applaud and support the authority’s action in ordering the evacuation as safety is paramount to the people affected. As of now, are only able to identify only 39 of staff and their families who are affected.”

“We believe that there could be more of our staff involved as some of them have decided to temporarily return to their respective kampungs or living with their nearby relatives,” Aminar said.

With regards to Perodua staff, Aminar said that the company will be giving those affected additional 3-day leave beginning 27 Oct in order for them to deal with the current situation.

“Over and above the cash contribution to ease the suffering of our employees, the (Perodua) management is now considering other forms of assistance to the staff and their families affected by this tragedy,” Aminar said.
