Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of the Naza Group of Companies continues to play a role in contributingsupplies in aid of the affected flood victims. The RM1mil pledge is in line with one of the foundation’s objectives of helping in the efforts of disaster relief.
The foundation announced the subsequent stage of contributions consisting of 500 cartons of ready-to-eat food supplies and 300 cartons of drinks to the Muslim Care Malaysia Society at Shah Alam. The non-governmental organisation will be delivering the goods directly to Kuala Krai, Kelantan.
Earlier on 26 December 2014, the Group initiated the distribution of 3,000 boxes of essential supplies to flood-affected states. 30 tonnes of essential supplies were transported by lorry while another 5,000 kilograms were transported by air. The supplies includedboats, dry food items, prayer items (sejadah, etc), toiletries, medication, diapers, clothes, baby formulaand other necessities.
“As a responsible homegrown company, the Naza Group and Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin feel compelled to extend assistance in whatever way possible to help alleviate the suffering of the flood victims. We will extend help from now until post-disaster,” said SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin, one of the foundation’s board of directors and the Joint Group Executive Chairman of the Naza Group of Companies.
Plans are also being made for volunteers and post-disaster clean up.
