As promised, Perodua has officially launched the facelifted Perodua Myvi today. Available in two segments – 1.3 and 1.5 – with two variants each, the company’s most popular model now comes with a four-star ASEAN NCAP rating, along with a slew of enhanced design features at a better price positioning.
First up, the 1.3 segment is offered in two variants; Standard G (auto and manual) and the new Premium X (auto only) with a new pricing bracket starting from RM41,500. Both variants are fitted with standard bodykit, reflector headlamps, 14-inch eight-spoke wheel and LED tail lights with red lens.
In terms of equipment in the cabin, the Standard G comes with a basic radio CD-player, retractable cup holder on the driver’s right hand side, multiple storage compartments, reverse senseors and the Axia‘s anti-snatch hook fixed on the front passenger seat.
As for the Premium X, the variant is equipped with front corners sensors, which can be deactivated, front fog lamps, radio CD-player with MP3/WMA, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls.
The 1.5 segment, on the other hand, can be had in SE and Advance guises starting from RM50,500. It is dressed in sportier SE-type bodykit consisting of new front and rear bumpers with mesh grille insert, chrome door handles, projector headlamps, LED guide lights, rear spoiler, clear LED tail lights and 14-inch spiral design wheels.
Inside, the Advance version comes with leather-wrapped semi-bucket seats and gear shift lever and a multimedia system with various functions including navigation, reverse camera, hotspot locator, USB port with charging function, DVD player, Yellow Pages search intergration and Bluetooth connectivity.
Meanwhile, the SE makes do with fabric upholstery, painted centre cluster and standard radio CD-player with MP3/WMA, USB and Bluetooth as in the Premium X variant.
Drivetrains have been left untouched – the 1.3 is still powered by a 1.3-litre K3-VE engine with 89 hp at 6,000 rpm and 117 Nm at 4,400 rpm while the 1.5 variant gets a 1.5-litre 3SZ-VE four-cylinder engine packing 102 hp and 136 Nm of torque.
Safety features come in the form of dual airbags, ABS and EBD for all variants except for the entry-level Standard G, alarm and immobiliser, three-point rear seat belts, Isofix child restrain system, steering lock, solar and security window film and a new two-motion remote control entry system.
Adding a little flavour to its most popular model, which has so far generated a total sales volume of over 800,000 units, Perodua has included a new Electric Blue metallic paint for the SE and Advance variants and Cosmic Gold for the 1.3’s Standard G and Premium X models.
As aforementioned, pricing begins from RM41,500 for the manual 1.3 Standard G variant in solid body paint to RM58,900 for the 1.5 Advance in metallic setting. For more info, you can refer to the complete price list given above.
Perodua launches New Myvi packed with better features at greater value
Kuala Lumpur, 15 Jan: Perodua launched its New Myvi model, replacing the current Myvi model line-up, here today packed with better features and at greater value for its customers.
The New Myvi’s new improvements include enhanced safety features, better styling and at a better price positioning.
“The Myvi has been well accepted by the market and has so far generated a total sales volume of over 800,000 units, making it the most popular Perodua model to date,” Perodua President and CEO, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said.
“The Myvi has impacted a lot of lives in Malaysia and we believe that this model is still relevant and well accepted by our society. We offer our heartfelt thank you to all Malaysians for your continued support,” Aminar said.
The New Myvi was launched by Perodua Chairman, Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin at a Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, today.
The New Perodua Myvi safety features are now improved with a 4-star rating by the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asia) as we have enhanced the vehicle structure to better withstand frontal impacts in line with global standards.
Improvements for the New Myvi include front corner sensors that can be activated by the driver based on need.
“This feature will assist drivers when making tricky corners when parking. In addition, this feature can be deactivated when driving or during traffic jams as not to cause unnecessary discomfort to the driver,” Aminar said.
Aminar said that the New Myvi also features an anti-snatch hook on the front passenger seat and a retractable cup holder for storage convenience.
“We have also updated our multimedia system to include a reverse camera for selected variants,” Aminar said.
“These improvements were made after an extensive study on how we can bring greater value to our customers and from this study we were able to increase the value proposition by RM4,500 – through both added features and price down,” he said.
Aminar added that these improvements was part of the compact carmaker’s as well as its vendors’ continuous effort to further reduce cost and transfer some of the savings to the customers.
“To add a little flavour to the New Myvi, we are featuring 2 new metallic colours, which are Electric Blue (SE and Advanced variants) and Cosmic Gold (Standard G and Premium X variants) alongside favourite colours of Ozzy Orange, Mystical Purple, Glittering Silver and Ivory White (Solid),” Aminar said.
“We target to sell 6,000 units of the New Myvi a month,” he added.
There will be a total 2 segments to the New Myvi consisting of 4 variants. The first segment will be in the 1.3-litre category, which comes in Standard G (MT/AT) and a new variant – Premium X (AT only).
The second segment is the 1.5-litre category, which include the Myvi SE 1.5 (MT/AT) and the Myvi Advance Version (AT only).
