Scuderia Ferrari may have just unveiled its SF15-T last month, but it doesn’t mean the team is entirely satisfied with the current design. That being the case, the racing division has come up with a design concept of the future Formula 1 car. This might just turn a few heads.
Looking at the design, which came out of the brand’s design department in Maranello, the concept sticks with the open cockpit design despite proposals to have it closed following Jules Bianchi’s crash at last year’s Japanese Grand Prix.
That said, the whole appearance of the concept car has been made more aggressive as well as alluring, albeit more complex. It has a cool two-tier front wing with fins, accompanied by a larger rear wing that looks to be positioned lower than the current design, side gills as well as low-profile Pirelli tyres. And most importantly, there’s no ugly nose on this one.
This may never happen (unless the F1 Commission agrees to shake up some rules and regulations) but it’s still one helluva concept design. We love it and we’re sure most of you F1 fanatics do too.
