Iveco - Brand Launch 01

Seen quite a long time ago as Intrakota busses and some ambulances, Turin based Italian commercial vehicles manufacturer, Iveco, finally makes its way into the Malaysia market formally, launching its full range of vehicles with Federal Auto Holdings Berhad appointed as its exclusive distributor.

The launching event, held at Saujana Hotel Resort this afternoon, is said to be the first official event of the brand. It introduced its wide range of vehicles and presented five key new product range, namely the Daily light commercial vehicle and International Van of the Year 2015, the Trakker off-road truck, the Eurocargo medium truck, the Stralis Truck of the Year 2013, and the 682 heavy commercial vehicles.

We will have a complete line-up that will cater for the growing demands of the trucking industry not only in terms of the tonnage required but also in terms of power, torque, safety, ergonomics and comfort and reliability.” said Federal Auto Managing Director Cheng Seng Fook.

Iveco - Daily Van - 1

First up is the new Iveco Daily van. Awarded as the 2015 International Van of the Year, the Daily panel and window van has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 3.5 tonnes, and as a Chassis cab, has a GVW of up to 5 tonnes. It is powered by a 3.0-liter F1C engine with 146 hp at 3,500 rpm and 350 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm.

Iveco - Trakker

The Iveco Trakker, is said to be designed to operate in extreme off-road conditions of construction and mining industries. With its 6×4 model, the Trakker has a GCW up to 60 tonnes, powered by a 12.8-litre, six-cylinder in-line engine with 420 hp at 1,900 rpm and 1,900 Nm of torque between 1,000 to 1,435 rpm.

Iveco - Eurocargo - 1

The Iveco Eurocargo medium truck is said to be available in multiple variations with a GVW up to 18 tonnes. The 4X2 truck uses a 5.9-litre, six-cylinder in-line engine with 280 hp at 2,500 rpm and 930 Nm of torque between 1,250 to 2,100 rpm.

Iveco - Stralis - 1

The Iveco Stralis heavy commercial vehicle, however, is offered in either a 4×2, 6×2 and 6×4 format. It has a GCW of up to 44 tons and is powered by a 10.3-litre, 6-cylinder in-line engine, rated at 430 hp and 1,900 Nm of torque. It garnered the Truck of the year 2013 at IAA show in Hannover, Germany.

Iveco - 682

Finally, the Iveco 682 heavy-duty truck. It is offered in 4×2 format with a GCW of up to 43 tonnes, 6×4 format with a GCW of up to 60 tonnes, 6×4 format with a GVW of up to 33 tonnes, and 8×4 format with a GVW of up to 41 tonnes. Two engine options are available for this truck, an 8.7-litre, six-cylinder in-line engine available in three different power ratings: 290 hp, 340 hp and 380 hp, and a 12.8-litre, six-cylinder in line engine available in two power ratings: 430 hp and 480 hp.
