Mercedes-Benz Concept GLC Coupe - Main

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new Concept GLC Coupe at the Shanghai Motor Show. The near-production study will go head-to-head with the BMW X4, should Stuttgart gives the green light.

The profile may resemble the GLE Coupe, which is in the same league as the X6, but in truth the GLC Coupe is more compact with an external length and wheelbase of 4,727 mm and 2,827 mm, respectively. The concept features striking body lines, elongated greenhouse as well as large 21-inch wheels for that sporty crossover look.

In detail, the GLC Coupe wears a twin-blade front grille, which is flanked by a pair of slim LED headlights, large air intakes as well as frameless side windows. Visual highlights around the back include four stacked tailpipes and split LED tail lights.

Under the hood, the concept is powered by a 3.0-litre biturbo V6 engine from the AMG Sports line. Mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox, the mill churns out a decent output of 367 hp at 5,500 rpm and 520 Nm of torque between 1,400 to 4,000 rpm. It boasts the brand’s 4Matic four-wheel-drive system, which is set to remain in the production version.
