Opel Adam Rocks S - Main

Tough just got tougher. No, we’re not talking about a burly pickup truck nor a performance sedan. The car in fact is the new Opel Adam Rocks S, which has been unveiled prior to its debut at the upcoming International Amsterdam Motorshow.

Described by Opel as “anything but cute and definitely not slow”, the Adam Rocks S goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, with a top speed of 210 km/h thanks to a turbocharged 1.4-litre Ecotec engine that delivers 150 hp and 220 Nm of torque. Despite the encouraging figures, the tiny crossover achieves 5.9 litres of fuel per 100 km in the combined cycle, which is equivalent to 139 g per km of CO2.

To match the zippy drivetrain, the Adam Rocks S, which measures 3.75 metres long, is built around a “tuned sport chassis” and has been lowered by 15 mm compared to the Adam Rocks. It is also fortified with, “direct sporty steering”, high performance brakes and ESP that can be switched off.

Aesthetics-wise, the Adam Rocks S sports a Swing Top canvas roof that folds back in five seconds via a button located in the headliner. The crossover can be specified with a total of eleven body colours that can be combined with five roof colours.
