Naza Premira Sdn Bhd, the sole and official importer of Aprilia in Malaysia, expanded its model lineup today with the introduction of the new Aprilia SR Max 300, which is the second scooter to be offered after the big SRV 850.
Targeted for both daily use and long trips, the SR Max 300 is powered by a 278 cc four-stroke engine with bore and stroke of 75 mm and 63 mm, respectively. The single-cylinder mill churns out 22 hp 22 hp at 7,250 rpm and 23 Nm at 6,000 rpm, which are channeled to ground through a twist-and-go CVT.
Being a scooter doesn’t stop the SR Max 300 from looking good, apparently. The scooter looks aggressive thanks to its compact nose design and sleek headlights, which are accentuated by a silver-coloured grille in the centre. Around the back, you’ll find sharp tail fairing that matches the dual-colour saddle.
The SR Max 300 is equipped with a hydraulic shock absorber with 35 mm telescopic fork on the front end and a pair of shock absorbers with a 3-position adjustable preload spring at the rear. It rides on 120/70 15-inch tyres at the front and 140/60 14-inch tyre at the rear (both tubeless) while braking power is provided by 260- and 240-mm discs.
The Aprilia SR Max 300 is offered in two colours – Nero Aprilia and Bianco Glam – with a price from RM31,800 (basic selling price including GST). However, first 50 buyers will be able to get the maxi scooter from a introductory price of RM28,800 (including GST). It comes with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty or 20,000 km.
