The new Honda Grace LX has been launched in Japan, following the introduction of the hybrid version late last year.
Known as the Honda City in our market, the Grace LX ditches the hybrid’s Sport Hybrid i-DCD (Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive) system for a 1.5-litre direct-injection DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine that develops 130 hp at 6,600 rpm and 155 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. Our City deploys a non direct-injected version of the 1.5-litre engine with an output of 118 hp and 145 Nm.
The Grace LX is equipped with a CVT, which helps the compact sedan to achieve a fuel efficiency of 21.8 km per litre according to Japan’s JC08 mode. The car comes with front-wheel drive as standard but customers may opt for the optional all-wheel-drive variant.
The Grace LX will be available in Premium Crystal Red Metallic, which is new and exclusive for the model. It is also equipped with auto-folding side mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an automatic ‘Plasmacluster’ air-conditioning system with rear vents as well as an optional rotating front passenger seat for those with special needs.
