As if copying the Evoque wasn’t bad enough, Chinese automaker Landwind apparently now offering knockoff Range Rover kits for the controversial X7 SUV through its network of dealerships across the country.
According to CarNewsChina.com, the kits are also sold online on Tabao (a virtual market place similar to eBay and Amazon) from 600 yuan or USD$96 onwards. It includes an Evoque front grille, which is available in silver, white or black as well as ‘Range Rover’ and ‘Evoque’ badges in multiple colours.
If you didn’t already know, the Landwind X7 is essentially a copy of the Evoque launched late last year. The Chinese-made SUV is powered by Mitsubishi’s 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine packing 190 hp and 250 Nm, which is no match the Evoque’s output of 240 hp and 340 Nm of torque.
